Description

The payment failed because the payment processor does not support a feature required for this transaction. This can include unsupported transaction types, payment methods, data requirements like AVS or 3DS, or regional and currency limitations.

Recommended Customer Message

Your payment could not be processed with the current payment method. Please try a different card or payment method.

Root Cause

  • Unsupported transaction types: Attempting to process transactions like recurring payments, refunds, or pre-authorizations that the processor does not support.
  • Incompatible payment methods: Using payment methods or card types that are not accepted by the processor.
  • Missing processor capabilities: The payment processor does not support a required feature (e.g., AVS, 3DS, Level II/III data).
  • Regional or currency limitations: The processor cannot process payments for specific regions or currencies.
  • Outdated integration or configuration: The gateway integration does not align with updated processor capabilities.

Troubleshooting and Solutions

  • Inform the customer that their payment could not be processed because the current processor does not support a required feature.
  • Ask the customer to try a different card or payment method.
  • Ask the customer to use a method known to be supported (e.g., Visa, MasterCard, etc.).
  • Review gateway and processor configurations to ensure the supported features align with accepted card types and payment flows.
  • Consider routing certain payment methods through alternative processors that support the needed feature.
